University Admissions

  • Completion of Grade 12 / Higher Secondary education

  • Science stream with Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Maths

  • Minimum passing percentage as required by university

  • Valid passport

  • Basic English proficiency (no IELTS required for most universities)

Important for Indian Students:

 

Students planning to practice medicine in India are strongly advised to have:

  • NEET qualification (as per Indian medical licensing requirements)

Admission Eligibility

Step 5 — Rector’s Order / Official Enrollment Decision

It is one of the key institutional approvals required before immigration documents are generated.

 

Step 6 — Admission Letter Issuance

Following rector approval, the university issues:

  • Official Admission Letter

  • Enrollment Confirmation

  • Tuition Fee Invoice

Step 7 — Invitation Letter (Immigration Purpose)

 

This confirms:

  • Student enrollment

  • Study program duration

  • University sponsorship for educational purposes

Step 8 — Tuition Fee Payment

After payment:

  • Payment confirmation receipt issued

  • Enrollment activated in university system

 

The case then moves to immigration processing.

Step 1 — Initial Eligibility Assessment (Pre-Application)

  • Academic transcripts (Grade 10 & 12)

  • Science subject eligibility (Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Maths)

  • Passport validity

  • NEET qualification status (recommended but not required)

Step 2 — Document Submission to University

Documents submitted include:

  • Passport copy

  • Application form

  • Supporting documents required by the university

Step 3 — Entrance Interview / Academic Screening

To assess:

  • Basic science understanding

  • English communication ability

  • Motivation to study medicine

Interview format:

  • Online

  • Usually 10–20 minutes

  • Conducted by university faculty or admissions committee

Step 4 — Conditional Admission Approval

After successful interview evaluation:

The university issues a Conditional Acceptance confirming the student meets academic requirements.

Student Visa Process

Visa on Arrival/Visa-free Entry

Duration: completed on arrival at the airport

Key Information:

  • Visa on arrival is typically granted for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

  • Passport must be valid for at least 6 months.

  • GCC residence permit holders may also be eligible.

Immigration officers may request:

  • University admission letter

  • Proof of accommodation

  • Return ticket

  • Financial proof

Important Note:

Visa rules may change based on nationality and residency status. Students are advised to confirm eligibility before travel.

Long-Term D3 Visa (Student Visa)

Duration: 2-5 weeks

This is the recommended and safest option for medical students because medical programs are long-term (6 years).

Process:

  1. Receive admission letter

  2. Prepare visa documentation file

  3. Submit application through embassy/online system

  4. Application review

  5. Visa approval issued

  6. Travel to Georgia

  7. Apply for Temporary Residence Card (TRC) after arrival

Documents Required for D Visa

  • Passport copy

  • GCC residence permit copy

  • Emirates ID / Iqama (depending on country)

  • Passport photos

Academic:

  • Admission letter

  • Enrollment confirmation

  • Academic certificates (10th & 12th)

  • NEET scorecard (recommended)

Financial Proof:

  • Sponsor bank statements (last 6 months)

  • Salary certificate or income proof

  • Sponsorship affidavit

  • Sponsor passport copy​​

After arriving in Tbilisi:

Student must still apply for a Temporary Residence Card (TRC) based on university enrollment.

  • 1 BHK/Studios: $250 – $600

    • Shared between 2 students

  • 2 BHK: $600 – $800

    • Shared between 2–4 students

  • 3 BHK: $900 – $1500

    • Shared between 3–5 students

For apartments, students must cover additional monthly expenses such as:

  • Water

  • Electricity

  • Gas

  • Building maintenance/lift

  • Cleaning

Cost of Utilities: $35-$115 (varies throughout the year)

Students staying in apartments can either cook themselves or subscribe to a monthly mess service.

 

Mess Delivery Services Available:

  • Delivered directly to your apartment

  • Weekly changing menu

Price Options:

  • One meal per day (Lunch or Dinner): $50 – $70/month

  • Two meals per day: $90 – $160/month

  • Full monthly mess packages: $65 – $200/month

 

This gives students flexibility to manage their budget and lifestyle preferences.
